QUESTION:

I have a species I need to know if it is native to my area (southern Indiana) - Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata)

ANSWER:

Verbena hastata (swamp verbena) is native to Indiana; it has a large distribution range, from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, s. to Florida, Kansas, New Mexico & California. It is not an aquatic plant, rather exists in moist prairies and damp thickets.
