Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

QUESTION:
I have a plant that looks like a lamb ear leaf but with a carnation flower on top. What is it?ANSWER:
First of all, our focus and expertise are with plants native to North America. From your description I doubt that your plant is a plant native to North America and, therefore, we are not the ones to be asking about it. If you will take photos of it and then visit our Plant Identification page, you find links to several plant identification forums that will accept photos of plants for identification.
