Native Plants

Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Title: Native subarctic plants
Answered by: Barbara Medford
QUESTION:
I'm doing a project on subarctic things and I have to have subarctic plants in it. I need to know a few and about them. Can you help?ANSWER:
This must be a popular project this year, as another similar question was asked not long ago. Please go to the Mr. Smarty Plants previous answer. Remember that the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is focused on plants that are native to North America, which of course includes Canada and Alaska. So you may also want to do some research in other subarctic areas that are NOT in North America.
