Native Plants
Q. Who is Mr. Smarty Plants?
A: There are those who suspect Wildflower Center volunteers are the culpable and capable culprits. Yet, others think staff members play some, albeit small, role. You can torture us with your plant questions, but we will never reveal the Green Guru's secret identity.
Did you know you can access the Native Plant Information Network with your web-enabled smartphone?
Ask Mr. Smarty Plants is a free service provided by the staff and volunteers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Title: Planting begonias in the Dallas area
Answered by: Nan Hampton
QUESTION:
What month is it time to plant begonias in the Dallas, Texas area?ANSWER:
Our expertise and focus here at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center are with plants native to North America. Begonia sp. are cultivars created from plants native to South and Central America, Africa and Asia and as such are not really within our purview. You can check the American Begonia Society Branch Directory to find a contact for the Dallas area Branch who could help you.More Propagation Questions
