Native Plants
Loveless, Brenda K.
Brenda Edwards Loveless grew up with two older brothers, frequently stalking insects in a field near her home in Mesquite, Texas or chasing Green Anoles (called chameleons) down in the woods when visiting grandparents in East Texas. She has often said that she was not reared but raised, like a plant. There were always many varieties of blooming plants and shrubs grown by her mother; her father cultivated nut and fruit trees in the remaining space.Brenda’s interest in wildflowers has been more recent and developed around nature walks with various digital cameras. In the last couple of years, she has devoted much time to two locations in particular, White Rock Lake in Dallas and Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge on the south end of the Big Mineral arm of Lake Texoma.
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is committed to developing the premier resource for native plant images in North America through continued growth of the Plant Image Gallery. You can help us achieve our mission ...to increase the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants, and landscapes... by becoming a contributor.
