Habitat: Full sun. Damp, alluvial soil, often flooded.
Description: Perennial w/short rhizomes. Culms 25-100 cm long, 1-1.5 mm thick, rooting at lower nodes, mostly erect. Leaves 3+ mm x 4-13 cm. Panicle 5-18 cm w/few diverging branches. Spikelets closely imbricate, 2.5-3 mm long.
