Habitat: Partial shade under Juniperus ashei in rocky, stoney soil, with a fair amount of humus interspersed.
Description: Annual with weak upward-bent or spreading stems branching at base and rooting at lower nodes. Sheaths downy with swollen based hairs, blades 5-10 mm wide. Inflorescence four to nine unbranched branches to 14 mm long, radially arranged. Spikelets to 3.5 mm.
