Habitat: Semi-open area under Quercus & Ulmus trees, near drainage, nominal moisture. Alkaline, alluvial soil. Large colony among mixed Poaceae.
Description: Perrenial from black flattened, globose, bulb, 2.5 x 4 cm. Leaves over 5 mm wide; scape to 20 cm high, spathe bifid at tip, at first covering ovary, later baring it on one side. Perianth tube less than 4 cm, cylindric; limb funnelform, expanding to 5 cm wide. Corolla white, often tinged with pink.
