Habitat: Moist, alkaline, alluvial, disturbed soil. Semi-shade. Few/scattered.
Description: Tufted, annual grass from fibrous roots. Culms to 90 cm x 2 mm; internodes 8 cm; sheathes rounded on back; ligules less than 1 mm long, lacerate, cinerate; blades to 10 mm x 35 cm, flat. Panicle 35 mm tall. Infloresence branches 15 cm long, about 60, flexing, 1 mm thick. Spikelets 2-4 flowered, to 3 mm long. Glumes: 1st shorter than 2nd (3mm), acute; lemma 1.5 mm long, blunt. Caryopses obovate, .8 mm long.
