Habitat: Moist, semi-shady, alkaline soil.
Description: Erect, single stalk, to 3-9 dm, 5 mm dia, light red-brown, much branched from axils. Many white, fiberous roots to 25 cm. Antorse-appressed, stiff hairs, less than .5 mm throughout. Leaves opposite, short petioled, linear-lanceolate, to 6 cm long w/few, obscure teeth. Flowers solitary, on axillary peduncle. Phyllaries few. Rays many, white, pistillate. Disk flowers perfect.
