Habitat: Half-shaded, damp, alluvial soil. Thick mass, large colony. Ubiquitous.
Description: Rambling, decumbent, vicariously branched annual from a slender taproot. Stem 4-angled, striate, retorsely hispid on angles and margins/lower midribs of leaves, to .5 m long. Leaves 6-8, in whorls at internodes, linear-oblance-olate, to 7 cm long, bristle tipped. Corolla small, white, on 1-3 flowered peduncles. Fruit not present.
