Location: W side of Holbrook Rd, 200 m N of Rittiman Rd, San Antonio.Latitude: 0.000000
Habitat: Full sun, in broad drainage ditch feedig Salado Creek. In slow moving water, among other palustrine plants.
Description: Perennial in colonies from creeping rhizomes. Culms near terete, to 8 mm thick x 1.5 dm tall, septate at intervals of 5-50 mm. Leaves few, as bladeless basal sheaths. Bracts few, short. Inflorescence of 4-12 glomerules of spikelets, sessile or on peduncles varying to 5+ cm long. Spikelets 6 mm long (immature), laterally compressed.
