Abstract
Evaluates organic weed management methods for Echinacea purpurea grown in a production environment in Australia. Hand weeding, hay mulch and pelletized paper mulch reduced weed growth by at least 90% compared with the control. Tillage reduced weed levels by about 50%. The cheaper weed control methods (tillage) had low crop yields and were 25-50% less cost effective than the more expensive weeding methods such as hand weeding and hay mulch.Suggested Citation
