Slender shrub or small, rounded tree with relatively broad leaves, more than 1/3 as wide as long; distributed locally on the Pacific Coast.
This willow of restricted range is confined to a narrow coastal zone about 200 miles (322 km) long. Not distinguished until 1934, it was named for Joseph Prince Tracy (1879-1953), an amateur botanist of Eureka, California, who made detailed studies.
