Wind Poppy is a delicate, 12-24 in. annual with 2 in. wide flowers borne on long stalks. The orange or red flowers have a maroon spot at the base of each broad, silky petal. The deeply cleft leaves are 1-6 in. long and occur more profusely near the base of the stem.
Wind Poppy rarely seeds in the wild except after wildfires.
